Your family story in a video
documentary

Create a lasting gift for your child and yourself. A mini documentary about the journey of becoming parents.

snimanje s bebom

Time flies

Where are the videos from my childhood?

What were your parents like?

How did they see the world?

Are they still the same, or have they changed?

What was the town where you lived like?

What did it look like?

What kind of world were you born into?

etc

Imagine receiving a video on your 18th birthday and seeing your parents while you were still in your mother’s womb.

And then, suddenly, there you are.

A baby.

A short documentary preserves the memories, emotions and moments that often fade with time, capturing life before and during the life changing journey of becoming parents.

Every family has its own story.
Every film is one of a kind.

We all enjoy seeing who we once were, how we looked, spoke and thought.

The process of creating a personal documentary encourages you to reflect on your past and your future, while capturing something that is often impossible to hold on to: the feeling of the present moment. And then comes the excitement of waiting for the day when the film is finally revealed.

OUR PROCESS

What to expect?

01

Reach out

Fill out the contact form on the website or reach out to me via Instagram, WhatsApp, phone call, or email.

02

Consultation

Together, we plan two filming sessions: the first during pregnancy and the second after your baby is born.

03

Filming sessions

While you're still expecting, I visit your home to film separate interviews with both parents. I bring all the necessary equipment, and together we create a comfortable space to capture your story. The visit lasts around 2 to 3 hours, and each interview takes approximately 30 minutes.

After your baby is born, and once you feel ready, I visit you again to meet your little one and capture additional footage for the film.

I also spend some time filming your town and neighbourhood to capture the world around you. This way, when Mum and Dad talk about their favourite places, your child will be able to see what they looked like at that moment in time.

04

Your personal videos and photos

You select the videos and photos you'd like to include, and I incorporate them into the final film. That way, 18 years from now, you won't have to search through old hard drives to find the memories from your pregnancy.

05

Editing and delivery

I create a personalised 10 to 15 minute film. The film is delivered on a USB drive in a handcrafted stone box. Stone lasts forever, but it is recommended to transfer the files to a new drive every five years. The film is usually ready before your child takes their first steps, although this depends on when we filmed. In most cases, it is completed within a month of the final shoot.

OUR CHILD IS ALREADY HERE...

Can we still create a film?

Of course

The days may feel long, but the years fly by.

And children, although they sometimes drive us crazy, will be little for a very short time and grown up for a very long time. That’s why it’s always the right time to create a gift like this.

I can spend one day with your family (up to 6 hours), including interviews, a walk to the park or around your home, your personal videos, and footage of your neighbourhood, and edit it all into a short documentary of approximately 10 minutes.

FIRST DOCUMENTARY

How it all began ...

My first documentary wasn't made for work or for a client. It was made for my family.

My first documentary wasn’t made for work or for a client. It was made for my family.

I filmed it as a teenager while waiting to become an aunt for the very first time, to my nephew Anton.

Over the years, everyone forgot that the film even existed. That’s why the moment we watched it again was so powerful. Even more powerful than I could have imagined.

It was then that I realised how much a memory like this can mean, and I decided to make that possible for other families too.

You can read my nephew’s and family’s reactions in the messages they sent me after we watched the film together on Anton’s 18th birthday.

HOW THEY EXPERIENCED IT

Client testimonials

“I was genuinely surprised when, on my 18th birthday, I was invited to watch a short film about my family and the town we lived in 18 years ago.

It came as a complete surprise because I had no idea such a film even existed. Honestly, I didn’t know what to expect, as I had never really thought much about what the world was like before I was born.

The film was both emotional and fascinating. It made me reflect on how much things have changed over time. I was truly happy to receive a gift like this, and I believe anyone would be grateful to have a film like this made about their life.

It was special to see my mum and dad when they were young and to realise how much has changed, while at the same time so much has remained the same.

For my parents, it was an incredibly emotional and unforgettable moment, one they will remember for a very long time. They were also very proud of everything they, and all of us together, have achieved over the years.”

HAVE ANY QUESTIONS?

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to prepare for the filming?

Only if you want to. Wear your favourite clothes. Anything that makes you feel comfortable and confident. For the first filming session, that’s all you need. For the second one, things will probably go however the baby decides.

I can send you the interview questions in advance if you’d like, but improvisation has its own authentic charm too.

What if my child isn't in the mood that day?

Nothing at all. We’ll simply wait and chat. Whether your baby needs to eat, sleep, or just have some quiet time, we’ll follow their rhythm.

I always allow much more time than we actually need, so there’s no rush and no pressure.

How long does the filming and editing process take?

Each filming session lasts a few hours, and the editing process usually takes 3 to 4 weeks.

I already have a child. Can I still book this service?

Of course. Many of us became parents before we ever thought of something like this, so what then?

I can spend a day with your family (up to 6 hours) and create a personal documentary capturing a day in your life. That way, these precious moments of childhood can be preserved, no matter what stage your family is in.

I don't live in Istria or Croatia. Can I still book this service?

Yes. Get in touch with me and we’ll explore the best way to work together.

I can travel to your location, and all arrangements are tailored to your specific situation.

Who owns the film rights?

You own all rights to the film. Before filming, you will sign a consent form, but nothing will ever be published without your explicit written permission.

The film belongs entirely to you. If you wish, I can also provide all of the raw footage. I only keep the finished films in my archive, and I recommend transferring your film to a new USB drive every 5 to 6 years to ensure it remains safe and accessible.

Think of my archive as your backup plan C.
